Random thought

Do you ever wonder what the world would look like if the grass was blue and the sky was green?

I do, although not until today when someone in the building next to us spilled blue paint all over the lawn. lol

Pilates last night kicked my butt and I loved every minute of it. :-) Read more... )

When I got home I went through a couple of boxes, since my stepdad has them piled all around my chair. You can barely move in our living room right now. I have several bags of clothing I need to drop off, I'll do that tomorrow if my car is okay.

I had to drop off the Expedition this morning to have it checked, I'm praying it won't cost a fortune to fix. *crosses fingers* It's running okay, but in Anchorage you are required to have an emissions test done on your vehicle every 2 years in order to renew the registration. I realized yesterday that the registration is due at the end of this month so I started making phone calls. The check engine light has been on for awhile but it's running okay, however they won't pass your vehicle's emissions test if that light is on, you automatically fail. Grrrr. I should be hearing any time now what the problem is.

Since my stepdad and I rode to work together today, we're planning on going to the gym after work. I almost hate to go inside, it's so beautiful out. Yesterday we hit 72 degrees! I hope this weather keeps up, it's amazing.

I found out last night a family friend I've known my whole life passed away last weekend from cancer. On February 22 he found out he had a brain tumor, and he died May 10th. He didn't even have any signs of a problem until after the first of the year, that's so fast. Will there ever be an end to cancer? Sometimes it's hard to believe that with all the technology available and all the money that's been raised for research a cure hasn't been found. I mean, they cloned a sheep! Not the same thing, I know, it's just hard when you've watched people suffer from this disease, and now days I think most people have experienced that. The Relay for Life I'm doing is coming up soon, next Friday to be exact. If you're able, please help me raise more money. Even $5 will help.

More interview questions!

This time from [info]ruaalien2 . :-)

1. If you could live anywhere right now, besides Alaska, where would it be and why?
Italy. I've always wanted to visit Italy, and to learn to speak Italian, so living there would be amazing even if it was only for a year.

2. If you could turn into an animal what animal would you chose? Why?
I would love to be a dolphin, to see what it's like to be so graceful in the water. They just seem like peaceful animals.

3. What is your reward once you reach your WW goal?
The obvious choice would be a new wardrobe. LOL But I think a trip to Hawaii would be a good incentive.

4. Do you believe that everyone has a soul mate?
Yes I do. I believe that there is a soul mate for everyone.

5. Whats the one memory from your childhood that you wish every child had?
I think holiday gatherings like they were at my house were something every child should get to experience. There were always too many people, too much food, lots of laughter and love. Of course they weren't always perfect, it's family after all. lol But those are some of my favorite memories, our family spent a lot of time together when I was younger.

Thanks Caryn! :-)

It's a pretty, sunny day and it's supposed to hit 50 degrees. We might even see 60 degrees by the end of the week! I'm thinking of finding a park during my lunch break and maybe take a short walk. I don't know the parks around here very well, I'll have to ask someone for directions.

Last night at the gym I did 5.25 miles between the bike and the treadmill. I also did weights for about 20 minutes, then my stepdad was ready to leave. I felt good afterwards. I've been drinking a ton of water, I've only had one diet soda in the past 2 weeks (that was last week at bowling), and no lattes for awhile since I've been drinking this French Vanilla stuff (only 1 WW point for one cup). I need to get to the store and buy some salad stuff and some fruit, I only have a few apples left.

I joined a group on meetup.com and holy crap they do a lot of things! Hiking, biking, camping trips, road trips, walking groups, even potlucks and planning meetings at the organizer's house. Today alone I've gotten emails about more than a dozen things going on in the next week or so. There's one road trip that has me tempted, a camping trip to Chena Hot Springs which is about a 7 hour drive north of Anchorage. I'll have to get more info about it.

My cold won't go away completely. Last night I was up half the night coughing. Someone asked me if I have allergies. I never have before but there's a first time for everything. I'm hoping it's just a cold and it will go away soon.

It's almost lunch time. *waves* Have a lovely afternoon.

Today I had to have Nika put to sleep. My family was lucky enough to have her for 19 years, quite amazing for any dog. It's been an emotionally exhausting day. It was so hard to make the decision to do it. We've decided we're going to have a private cremation and bury her remains with Mom this summer. I suppose that sounds weird, I'm not sure how often people do that, but that's what we decided to do. So here are a few pics of Nika. I hope she's at peace.

Suddenly I'm getting a huge amount of Russian spam mail. Weird.

I found my best friend from 6th grade on Facebook!

Will spring ever get here? It was 5 degrees this morning. *shivers*

I haven't kept track of WW points since Friday. Bad Aimee!

Lately I'm craving peanut butter. Where do these cravings come from?!

I'm looking forward to playing World of Warcraft when I get home. Words I never thought I'd say. lol

Off to the gym I go. I just hope it's not interval training day, my headache isn't completely gone.

I picked up my napkin to wipe my mouth after eating a granola bar, and there was a spider on it!!! Oh. My. God. If it hadn't moved I would have squished it right onto my mouth!

GROSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ew, now I'm going to have the creepy crawlies all day.

Happy St. Patrick's Day to You, Happy Work Anniversary to Me

Happy St. Patrick's Day! I forgot to mention that earlier. I also forgot to wear green because I forgot it was St. Patrick's Day until I got to work. Oops.

It was exactly 4 years ago today that I became an employee of HMS Inc. Aside from my job at the roller skating rink where I grew up, this is the longest I've been employed by the same company. I feel like it's my first real grown up job, since I have health benefits and paid vacation time. lol I wasn't even looking for a job yet when this one kind of fell in my lap, and I'm really grateful it did.

Relay for Life

I realized after a comment from the amazing [info]anomie666  that I forgot to post about this. I have signed up to participate in the Relay for Life for the American Cancer Society in May! I'm really excited about this, I've set my first fundraising goal at $500. For those of you who feel so inclined to look, here's the link to my page:

Cancer has affected my life in ways I could never have imagined. Nobody should have to go through what my Mom and Dad went through because of this disease. I'm doing this relay in honor of them, and all of my friends and family who have been affected by cancer.

Since I'm in a weird mood...

Is there something you've always wondered about me? Something I don't blog about, something you're curious about?

Ask me and I shall answer.

Here's your chance to find out what inquiring minds want to know.

I feel I should warn you I'm really not all that exciting. I'm just bored at work. LOL
